The project´s goal is the synthesis of C12A7 and its transformation in “electride” C12A7:e- and its application in thermionic emission devices, working at low temperatures. These devices can be suitable for implementing power conversion systems, without turbines and mechanic elements that can be ideal in high temperature environments as foundry industries and geothermal energy. Another important application related to ionic thrusters, due to plasma generation from noble gases (argon, xenon) that are the latest developments in nano and pico satellites technologies.

The project has a relevant advance in temperatures (low) and power conversion ratios.
